The late Bishop Korir was a major peace and reconciliation advocate whose contribution to the peace building effort during the 2007 post-election violence in Kenya, and cattle rustling in the North Rift are emblematic to his life commitment to peace. Dr. Mokaya was privileged to intern at Late Bishop Korir’s office where she learned a lot on the approaches Bishop used to broker for peace in the volatile areas of North Rift Valley. His mechanism for brokering peace among the conflicting parties was empowerment vested on the people to choose what they really wanted. Most of the time it was a win win outcome.
